  • The Craigies may have used these rooms to house their servants after building the ell around 1793.
  • The Longfellows used the back bedrooms  for a nursery and for Miss Davey's school one year.
  • Samuel Longfellow lived there while a student at Harvard, and the Longfellows occasionally used the rooms for other guests.
  • Charley decorated the room with his Civil War objects and objects from his later travels to India, China and Japan.
  • In the twentieth century, Harry Dana used the rooms until 1950.  During the 1920s he had additional bookcases built in the room.
