Back Hall

The back hall was used mostly by family members and household staff.

It provided access to the kitchen and service areas from the front rooms on the second floor.

The hall contains seating, bookcases, and works of art as well as a Japanese screen.

Ernest Longfellow's paintings of Henry Longfellow's friends hang along the stairway, and the Cephas Thompson portrait of Henry Longfellow is near the stair landing.

Japanese fans brought to the House by Charley Longfellow are here as well.
